Portuguese soprano Ana Vieira Leite is a laureate from the "X Jardin des Voix" academy of Les Arts Florissants and started her 2021/22 season singing the title role in Händel's Partenope in the ensembles’ tour through Europe under the baton of William Christie and Paul Agnew. Stages of this tour include the Luzern Festival (Switzerland), Ateneul Român (Romania), Bela Bartok National Concert Hall (Hungary), Philharmonie de Paris (France), Teatro Colon (Spain), Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia (Spain), Festival de Beaune (France), Gran Teatre del Liceu (Spain), Opéra Royal de Versailles (France) among others.
Ana Vieira Leite is particularly active in the field of early music and has sung roles such as Spes in “Ordo Virtutum” by Hildegard von Bingen, La Musica in “Orfeo” by Monteverdi, Lidie in “Temple de la Gloire” by Rameau, but the role of Amour in “Titon et L’Aurore” by Mondonville, with Les Arts Florissants directed by William Christie at the Opéra Royal de Versailles (co-production with Opera Comique) stands out. She has also played Clarina in Rossini's “La Cambiale di Matrimonio", Polly Peachum in Kurt Weill's “Threepenny Opera” and Cupidon in Offenbach's “Orphée aux Enfers”.
In 2019, she played Clorinda's role in the french children's adaptation of Rossini's “Cenerentola” and soprano solo in "Einstein on the Beach" by Philip Glass at the Grand Theater in Genève. In concert, she performed Gustav Mahler's “4th Symphony” with Joana Carneiro and Gábor Takács-Nagy and Gustav Mahler's “Rückert Lieder” with Thomas Hauschild.
Ana Vieira Leite has performed in venues/festivals such as Arsenal in Metz (France), Audirorium Orchestre National de Lyon, Opera de Dijon, CCB (Portugal), Händel Festspiele - Halle (Germany), Auditorium de Rádio France (France) among others.
She collaborated with ensembles such as Les Arts Florissants (William Christie/ Paul Agnew), Cappella Mediterranea (Leonardo Garcìa Alarcon), Musica Temprana (Adrian Van Der Spoel), Holland Baroque, Le Concert d'Hostel Dieu (Franck-Emmanuel Comte), Les Argonautes (Jonas Descotte), Divino Sospiro (Massimo Mazzeo), Músicos do Tejo (Marcos Magalhães), Ensemble Bonne Corde (Diana Vinagre), Pulcinella (Ophélie Gaillard), Concerto 1700 (Daniel Pinteño) and Bando de Surunyo (Hugo Sanches) and with orchestras such as Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France (France) among others.
She is the 1st prize of the 2020 “Concours de Chant Baroque de Froville” (France) and the 1st Prize of the 2021 “Concurso de Canto a Fundação Rotária Portuguesa" (Portugal).
Before joining the Haute École de Musique in Geneva, where she obtained her Master Concert, Ana Vieira Leite began her musical studies at the Calouste Gulbenkian Music Conservatory in Braga, Portugal, at the age of 6. She has a degree and a Master's degree in artistic interpretation from ESMAE (Porto). In 2021, she won the 2nd Prize of the “Prémio Jovens Músicos", in 2018, the 1st Prize of the “Concurso Cidade de Almada” and in 2017, the 1st Prize of the “Prémio Helena Sá e Costa”.
Ana Vieira Leite was pleased to have the support of the Gulbenkian Foundation (Portugal), the Fondation Mosetti (Switzerland) and the GDA Foundation (Portugal).
In 2022/2023, she will sing the role of Belinda in Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Grand Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and at the Opera de Versailles, with William Christie. She will also be Euridice in "Orphée et Euridice" (Gluck) at the Philharmonie de Paris directed by Paul Agnew and she will present her solo collaboration with the Ballet of the Grand Theater de Genève in the work “Noetic” (composed by Skymon Brzóska) on the European tour.
